Two days and we’re DONE!

We are running a little behind schedule because of the rain, but the house continues to come down very quickly.   We expect to be done with this project by Tuesday afternoon.  It’s been an amazing experience, and we’ve reclaimed several tons of old lumber and doors, but we are ready to move on to our next project.

Here are some photos from the past few days.

Time to remove the carport — the roof was removed first

De-nailing and removing floor joists — we found a very stinky cat skeleton in this area!

Carport gone

Roof removed on small enclosed porch and guys assessing how to demo the unstable structure

Decision made to pull down the structure

Pulling it down using rope and muscle

Down it came

Time to take apart and de-nail the mess of lumber

Structure disappearing before our eyes

Well, don’t you know the neighbors are exstatic! So what’s/where’s the next project? Mike and I just got back from 9 days in ROckport…Had a wonderful time there and broke it up by staying at an rv park in La Grange there and back….We can’t wait til we can get back to Rockport and have another “Coastal Fix”!

We have got to get back over to your place and see all the “goodies”!

Hugs and Love, Drue and Mike

Our next project is in Rusk. I’ll post photos soon on that.

I figured y’all had gone to Rockport again. Good for you! Look forward to seeing you soon (I hope).
