Abandoned Near Laneville, TX

I have to show you an old house that we recently discovered near Laneville, Texas.  It’s still a pretty house and quite old, according to the rocks that are used as the foundation support.     I would have taken more photos, but after I shot the photo of the fireplace, I walked around to the side to get a closer shot of the brick, and right then, a very mean-looking chow came out from where he was hiding underneath the house, all bristled up and growling.  I thought I would be attacked, for sure.  I backed off very, very slowly, heart pounding.  Fortunately, I was lucky and walked away unscathed.

You have a dangerous profession there 🙂 Love the stones holding it up. Looks sort of unstable, but it’s obviously worked just fine for all these years.

Wow – these old houses just capture my heart. I wish I was wealthy and could save a few. Thanks for sharing.

when I see one of these houses in Arkansas, I always wondered about the lives that took place there, where were they now and how sad their houses look now, but I always feel the warmth that must have taken place in these abandoned homes.
