Mighty Big News

Several weeks ago, I promised a big announcement.

Drum roll, please.

Last September, our home was photographed by Meredith Corporation, the publisher of several huge magazines, including Better Homes & Gardens, Do-It-Yourself, Ladies Home Journal . . . to just name a few.

We’ve been told that our home will appear in two magazines sometime this year:

Flea Market Style

. . . . and . . . .

Kitchen & Bath Makeovers.

 kitchen and bath makeovers magazine

kitchen and bath makeovers - 2

We have no idea yet when the magazines will be issued, but I’ll certainly let you know when we do!

I’ll blog again soon and share photos of the whole experience!

Congratulations Kim! I have enjoyed watching the progress on your house the last 2 years. What you all need and deserve is a show on DIY or HGTV. I get so sick of watching the people on these shows rip apart and destroy old houses. By that I mean they destroy the character and/or just demolish perfectly good things, which could be at least given away, if not repurposed in the actual house. Rehab Addict is the only one that comes close. The rest seem to start out reusing-restoring-repurposing, then stray right away from it. I could see a show where ya’ll tear down houses you couldn’t save (as you have done), savage everything possible (as you have done), then use in other houses, or show how those items were used by someone who bought them (as you have done on on here). I guess people like the fake shows and seeing perfectly good wood splintered with sledge hammers but as someone trying to restore an 1885 house, that has already had all of the character stripped from it by previous owners, with most beadboard and shiplap still there but covered by drywall and literally busted to pieces where they added new wiring or plumbing, I can appreciate all the hard work you all have done reclaiming, cleaning and reusing all the old wood. I can’t wait to buy the issue that features your home!!
