Searching for a Good Bargain (19/52)

I'm always searching for a good bargain. How about you? (19 of 52)

I can certainly identify with Patricia.

I’m thrifty, too — I always get a small thrill when I find a great bargain, especially if it’s something I’ve saved to my Amazon wish list but find it for pennies on the dollar.  And, I’m a big believer in “meant to be”:  for example, some of the books I’ve bought for just a dollar have turned out to be some of my absolute favorites.

Some of my favorite finds have included not only books, but clothing, a small cubby cabinet, clear glass jars with lids that I use to store grocery staples, and a small settee that I’ve carted around with me for years that I will one day re-upholster with a pretty fabric.

How about you?  What bargain buys do you treasure?

P.S.  If you’re wondering, I pulled the quote from an Old Country Home magazine (dated November 2005) and the photograph is one of my “found” photos.  (I’ve started a collection.)

Haha, I love that quote. Me, too. Some of my favorites? The step stool chair that reminds me of my childhood, my cubby shelf in the art room (that one was a great find!), and my small red bench. I do love the hunt! You never know just what you’ll find. 🙂

Yes, I think that’s why I like it so much. Most of the time, it’s a dud to go shopping in these places … BUT the time you do find a treasure, it’s a special thrill.

A couple of old handmade quilts, a collection of amateur floral paintings & a perfectly fitting pair of Habitual jeans ( no way I could ever afford these brand new). Every Wednesday the Salvation Army in my area has clothes for 50% off. The jeans were less than $5.

I collect small prints and paintings too (mainly of trees), and I LOVE to find clothing at absurdly low prices!

I love that picture fits my daughter and I perfectly. Would you mind if I printed it and hung it in my home?

I have no problem at all with that, Brenda. 🙂

Ha, ha–I can relate, Kim! Love your vintage photo; it reminds me of a store down the street from my grandmother’s called the “Variety Shop.” We’d ride our bikes down when we were kids and buy comic books. Those were the days 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up with Vintage Charm!
