Laughter is the Best Medicine (34/52)

Remember to laugh even when times get tough. Especially then.

I competed in UIL competitions in  high school.

One I particularly remember was memorizing and reading a poem.  I don’t remember the title or the entire poem, but the point was that we should “sit on a box and laugh” at life’s troubles.

Although I couldn’t have known it at the time, my life has had it’s share of pain and regret.  (Hasn’t everyone by the time you get to be middle age?)

Like this woman, laughter has been a blessed relief during those times, to be sure.

I think the best laugh we can give is to laugh at ourselves. We are such a goofy bunch, that if we didn’t laugh at ourselves, the alternative would be to cry. I like laughing much more.

I totally agree. Sometimes it’s not easy, but laughter always feels like a sweet relief.
