All I keep thinking about is how Trump said he’s going to get rid of the Environmental Protection Agency and how companies will be able to dump even more chemicals into our water and our air and bulldoze everything in their path. I’m sorry. I’m so sick about what’s going to happen to the animals and the earth, I can’t even find joy in this beauty.

I know. I have been useless this week. I cannot focus on anything except raising my voice against the violence and the divide in our nation. My post today and yesterday were finished and scheduled last weekend. I’m not sure how I’m going to get past this and if my blog will suffer. Publishing 8 favorites is a fun hobby and distraction, but it seems useless right now.

You have to get back to it. We need it.

    Don’t despair.
Despite the divide ,the hostilities and threats and the broken promises. We all need a moment to reflect on simpler things. Mere words and pictures cannot mend the harm done but they can show that even though turmoil exists we can still collectively produce something beautiful that can be admired by many. It may seem futile to some to attempt such a simple act , however it shows greater strength of character to do what you do in such a careful and empathic way than just giving in to the maelstrom around.

If your website and beautiful posts make just a handful of people stop and pause then that in itself is an achievement .
You alone are responsible for what is created within these virtual pages, and from my perspective that alone is far from useless.

Dave, I just read your note, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It means more than you know. Know that you are a gem as well.
